POETRY & CREATIVE WRITING PAGE

This page is dedicated to your creative written expression. It is an opportunity to express how you feel about the deforestation of the Amazon Rainforest, thoughts of hope for the future, or to describe the wonders of life that the rainforest bring us. Ana Paula and John have started us off. Contributions should be made to AmazonCry@yahoo.co.uk

My Passion Flag

I am proud of my smile, my dance and my free spirit.

I carry with me all the memories from the golden treasured hearts I met.

I carry the breath from the green leaves.

I bring the hope inspired by the clear blue sky after the storm.

I have the light of the white stars in my eyes.

I am one, not alone,

Sharing the flag stamped in my soul.

I can see your passion in my dreams.

I see you understand we are all one kind.

I can see you dreaming in green, yellow, blue and white,

Breathing the same pure air,

Drinking from the same water of hope,

Healing with green remedies,

Wandering under the same bright sky.

I can see you proud of our earth,

Aware of our fate,

Sure of your respect for all kind of lives.

The fire in your heart will extinguish the tears for help,

It will bring light to our future.

Acting today, saving the tomorrow.

Amazonia, Brazilian treasure is a world’s heritage.

“Ordem e Progresso” in the planet!

Break the Chain

(You are the Weakest Link)

Chainsmoking – filling the lungs with poison

An addiction of distraction

Cancerous consumption of this vital organ

The only hope: the consumer wanting to change.

Chainsaws – felling the lungs of the rainforests

An addiction of global consumerism

Cancer of capitalism strangling Gaia

What hope, with no transplant organs at hand?

We still have the chance to re-view;

A chance to save her.

Chainsmoking consumerism and

Chainsaw capitalism

Rely on consumers –

The weakest of the links in the chain,

So as consumers lets’ change our habits;

Break this chain of destruction.

If we plunder the resources of life itself

Then there can be no promise of life in years to come.
